DEICING USING CALCIUM CHLORIDE

Deicing is a method of removing the accumulated ice and snow from the roads and pavements with the help of chemicals. Heavy snowfall during the winter season is a hurdle and threat to the commute and daily life. Deicing should be done quickly on busy routes to avoid accidents. Hence deicing is done using chemicals like calcium chloride, Magnesium chloride, Potassium chloride or Magnesium acetate. The advantage of using Calcium Chloride as ice melt over other mentioned chemicals is its better performance at a lower temperature. Its tendency to combine with and absorb moisture makes calcium chloride dissolve in water more rapidly than other substances. Calcium Chloride can melt ice and snow even at -25°F (-32°C). The efficiency of Calcium Chloride as an ice melt decreases the labour cost also. Calcium Chloride is available as flakes and pellets. SODIUM HYPOCHLORITE AS A DISINFECTANT

Sodium hypochlorite, commonly known as bleach, is most frequently used as a disinfecting agent. Sodium hypochlorite appears as colorless or slightly yellow watery liquid with an odor of household bleach.  Studies have shown that Sodium hypochlorite is a highly effective disinfectant that has wide ranging applications. It appears that sodium hypochlorite offers an optimal balance between low cost, ease of use, safety, and efficacy than other disinfectants like calcium hypochlorite, ozone, UV and solar disinfection. Also In areas where water is not excessively turbid and is available for drinking, sodium hypochlorite is highly effective. Due to these features of sodium hypochlorite, it is widely used for water treatment systems in many countries. As a disinfectant, sodium hypochlorite kills bacteria, viruses and fungi. In the same way that chlorine disinfects, sodium hypochlorite does too. The demand for disinfectants are widely increased after the COVID outbreak. Sachlo is a leading...

Why chemical industries are important

Chemical Industries are the prime factors to convert the raw materials into desired products that we use in our day-to-day life. The chemical industry can also be described simply as "the industry that uses chemistry and manufactures chemicals ", this definition isn't altogether satisfactory because it leaves open the question of what is  chemical. Definitions that are adopted for statistical economic purposes vary from country to country. What does the chemical industry produce ? The products of the industry are often divided into three categories: Basic chemicals Specialty chemicals Consumer chemicals Basic chemicals are a broad chemical category industry that incorporates polymers, bulk petrochemicals, intermediates, derivatives, and basic industrials, inorganic chemicals and fertilizers or pesticides. This industry develops new products and manufactures a variety of products for human lives. Many of the products like perfumes, soaps, and detergents, are...
